The SetpointHQ Index · Fintech

Fintech employer brands: household names, invisible to AI.

The largest sector in the Index, and one of the widest spreads: Stripe 4th of 100, Allica Bank 99th. 15 fintechs, 5 dimensions, 1 September 2026.

Fintech employers spend heavily on being known, and most of them are. Candidates can name Monzo, Revolut and Wise without thinking. Ask an AI assistant which fintechs are good to work for, though, and the answer is far patchier than the brand awareness suggests.

Fintech is the largest sector in The SetpointHQ Index, with 15 of the 100 UK employer brands we score every month across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. These figures are from the 1 September 2026 run.

Scores out of 100, The SetpointHQ Index, 1 September 2026 run. “Prompts naming it” is the share of candidate research prompts in which the assistants named the employer. “Citation” is the weighted citation dimension score. Each name links to the employer’s full Index profile.

Household names with nothing for the machines to read

Revolut is the clearest case. It is named in 55% of candidate prompts, more than all but 2 fintechs, and it scores 0 on schema. Its careers pages carry none of the structured data that tells an assistant what the company is and what roles it has open. The result is a rank of 56th, below brands with a fraction of its recognition.

GoCardless, ClearScore and Allica Bank also score 0 on schema. Between them, these 4 account for every zero on the schema dimension in the sector.

Brand spend buys recognition. It doesn’t buy the 20 lines of structured data an assistant needs before it can recommend you with confidence.

3 fintechs the machines don’t know exist

Zilch, Curve and Tide all score 0 on knowledge graph. In practice that means the assistants have no reliable entity record to anchor them to: nothing in Wikidata or the graphs they lean on that says clearly who the company is. Tide has the strongest social footprint in the sector at 92, so people are talking about it. The machines just can’t connect that conversation to a defined organisation.

This is fixable, and cheaper than it sounds. A complete, accurate entity record, and an Organization schema on the corporate site that points to it, gives the assistants something authoritative to cite.

What the leaders do differently

  • OakNorth is named in 75% of prompts, the highest share in the sector, and has the top citation score at 68.8, despite a knowledge graph score of only 70.4. Third-party coverage is doing the work.
  • Stripe has no weak dimension: perfect crawlability, a 96.6 knowledge graph score and schema at 50.
  • Wise pairs schema at 65 with a 50% naming share, the most balanced profile in the top 5.
  • Zopa has the best schema in the sector at 75 and is named in only 31% of prompts. Structure without coverage doesn’t win the answer either.

Neobanks and the high street

Fintech’s median of 53.0 sits just below UK banking at 55.0. The digital banks don’t beat the high street on AI visibility: Monzo scores 60.4, Starling 53.0 and Revolut 53.4, against Barclays at 74.3. Being born online is no advantage if the careers site gives the assistants nothing structured to read.

One finding per brand

  • Stripe (69.7, rank 4). The sector leader, with no dimension below 50.
  • OakNorth (69.3, rank 5). Named in 75% of prompts, the most of any fintech.
  • Wise (66.1, rank 10). Schema at 65 and a 50% naming share.
  • Monzo (60.4, rank 24). Named in half of prompts, schema at 40.
  • Klarna UK (57.8, rank 34). Strong crawlability and knowledge graph, citation at 30.0.
  • Zopa (56.8, rank 39). The best schema in the sector, the lowest citation among the top 6.
  • Revolut (53.4, rank 56). Named in 55% of prompts with a schema score of 0.
  • Starling (53.0, rank 57). Mid-table on every dimension.
  • Atom Bank (49.2, rank 64). Good crawlability, citation at 19.6, the lowest in the sector.
  • Zilch (43.5, rank 82). Schema at 55 and a knowledge graph score of 0.
  • Curve (42.1, rank 87). Perfect crawlability, no knowledge graph entity.
  • Tide (41.6, rank 89). The strongest social score in the sector at 92, and a knowledge graph score of 0.
  • GoCardless (40.5, rank 91). Schema at 0, knowledge graph at 58.3.
  • ClearScore (38.2, rank 97). Schema at 0 and a weak knowledge graph score of 46.7.
  • Allica Bank (33.0, rank 99). The lowest score in the sector: schema 0, knowledge graph 45.6.

How the Index measures this

The SetpointHQ Index scores 100 UK employer brands monthly across 5 dimensions (citation, schema, knowledge graph, crawlability and social) by probing 4 AI assistants with the questions candidates actually ask. The rubric is published and versioned in the methodology. See also professional services and law and retail and consumer goods.

Common questions

Which UK fintech is most visible to AI assistants?

Stripe leads UK fintech in The SetpointHQ Index at 69.7, rank 4 of 100 in the 1 September 2026 run. OakNorth is close behind at 69.3 and is named in 75% of candidate prompts, the most in the sector.

Why does Revolut score low for AI visibility?

Revolut is named in 55% of candidate prompts but scores 0 on schema: its careers pages carry no structured data an assistant can read. That pulls its composite to 53.4 and its rank to 56th.

What does a knowledge graph score of 0 mean?

It means the AI assistants have no reliable entity record for the company, such as a complete Wikidata entry, to anchor it to. Zilch, Curve and Tide all score 0 on this dimension.

Are digital banks more visible to AI than high-street banks?

No. The fintech median is 53.0 against 55.0 for UK banking. Monzo scores 60.4 and Revolut 53.4, while Barclays scores 74.3.

How can a fintech improve its AI visibility quickly?

Start with schema and the knowledge graph. Organization and JobPosting structured data on the careers site, and a complete entity record, are technical fixes that give assistants something authoritative to cite.
